Just one of those is enough to feed the whole motor!

You may need to notch the bores.

Geeze, is their actually an application on that, or is it just a fun toy?

That looks like one of those huge stamps they use at the post office.

Kind of sad when your valves are bigger than your pistons.

The valve is from a boat, a very big boat. Military destroyer sized boat.

Seeing as that big valve is sitting on top of my Slant 6 cylinder head.....

Not locomotive....at least not Canadian locomotive. They are 10 cyl , 2 stroke , with 2 cranks and 2 pistons per cylinder. The top crank drives the blower. The top crank has a shorter stroke than the bottom.

Four of Brens valves would feed a head on a 200HP cylinder.

My personal fave: 3000hp V16 twin turbo Mirrlees. 10" bore/10" stroke. Sounds like rock n roll at 330rpm (rev limit)

Turbos are 4 ft in diameter. Heads are 4 valve per cylinder.

Shoot, we've only got 1000hp x 2 at work. Cummins V12s, 6.25" bore and stroke makes for 2300 cubes. 4 valve/cylinder too. There is a turbo on each bank bigger than my head. Each turbo has it's own exhaust and a muffler larger than a 55 gallon drum. These are for backup power and spin 1800 RPM and will produce 750kW each, but we only run one up to 80% (600kW) before the 2nd one is automatically started and brought on-line.

Not exactly what I worked on but close. Ours had exposed rocker gear and pushrods. To get reverse you stopped the engine, changed cam timing (pneumatically) and started it in reverse. Direct drive....counter rotating. One fuel pump per cylinder.

One of my most memorable moments: Lying in the crankcase (dry sump) while the crank was rolled over by the elctric turning gear. We were checking rod bearings and because I was the slimmest I was elected to do the checking. There is quite a throw on a crank with a 10" stroke....
