Post subject:  valve spring

Hi i'm about to rebuild my head and i has wondering if this valve spring will work

part # p4120249 inst. ht. 1.67"/1.70", description single/ damper, od 1.50" wire dia. 0.206" lift range 0.430"/0.500"

i have a pretty much stock engine (74 225) but i might be putting a slightly bigger cam in (going to go down and talk to racer brown sometime soon) anyway i was just wanting to see if this spring will work or if anyone knows the mopar part # for the 340 springs/or if anyone knows the specs on them i would greatly appreciate it

p.s. i don't really want to do any machining to the head id prefer an easy swap

that spring would fit right up, no machine work needed in your head. You do need the plates, as the stock ones would be small for this spring.

They will be better than the stock springs(if they are in good shape). They will allow you to turn rpm without the valves floating/bouncing which you will need when going to the bigger cam. Also if you ever go turbo they will help becuase you need a heavier spring to hold the valve closed because of the boost behind the intake valve even if using a stock cam.

better than stock if you go to larger cam, ditto jess.

they also have vibe dampner... wich would add to all of the advantages from above.
