Just acquirred a 1963 Dart 270 (4door), one of the problems was that the speedometer jumped between 20 and 60 MPH. I pulled the cable, cleaned it and regreased it, it's better now, but still jumps about 5-10 mph, at slow speed, and 0-5 mph at speeds above 30 mph. No noises from the cable or speedometer, should I just pull it and add a little more grease?

A related question, the lights that screw into the instrument panel so you came read it at night were burned out, I replaced them, but other than the oil light none of them work, any suggestions?

Don't add more grease; it's really easy to overdo it and gunk-up parts that need to be "not greasy". It is probable that your speedometer head needs rebuilding, as I mentioned before.

If all of the dashboard illumination bulbs fail to light, the problem is probably in the headlamp switch, which contains the rheostat that feeds power to the dash bulbs. The first thing to check is whether the headlamp switch knob is turned all the way counterclockwise (stopping just short of the "click" that turns on the dome light). If you don't get any dash lights at all even when rotating the headlamp switch knob through its full range of motion, it's likely you need a new headlamp switch. They are still available.

I doesn't sound like the speedohead. Greasing the cable made an inprovement. It sounds like the cable. Like dan said -no more grease unless you din't grease it properly the first time. Dans method of greasing should work fine but for an easier faster way and you have an open area do as follows:
1. Remove cable from sleave and clean in parts washer or with brake cleaner then lay on a disposable surface.
2. Use a can of spray antiseize copper to spray the cable.
3. Use brake cleaner to clean out sleave.
4. whirl cable around your head to remove extra lubicant. (Do both ends)
5. Reinsert cable into sleave.
6. Wash car and house and your wife/girlfriend if she watching.
