| Post subject: | Tuning up the Dart |
1976 Dodge Dart Sport Lite: I got the new fuel inlet, and got the car running. It seems that the carb has a hairline crack on the outside, but is not leaking! I do plan on replacing it before the car goes on the road. Also the gas in the tank had so much crud in it that the gas was rust colored I want to tune the Dart up today(first day off in a few weeks!) I got a Sears inductive timing light from a buddy, seems like a nice unit! I want to set the timing.Any tips on how to go about doing this? Also what should I set the timing at? This will be my first time. I want to adjust the Valves,I have already bought a feeler guage set,and new valve cover gasket. What should I set the valves to? I know I have to do this with the car running, this will also be my first time adjusting valves! I am going to replace the spark plugs, which plugs and gap should I go with(stock ignition for now) I need to replace the heater hoses, what size do I need, and how much? That should keep me bust for the day, thanks for any help! |
