It appears that it will, I just figured someone would know at a glance, or fill me in on something I don't know or see. Thanks. |

The second bell will work stock for stock with your setup...(the 1984 truck bellhousing). I have one out of a 1981 Ram and it has a slightly different clutch fork arrangement than the 60's/70's bellhousings. -D.Idiot |

| Post subject: | Hi miser, about the belll |
Hi miser, Neither of the ebay bells, although carrying the term "universal" are what I referred to as "the "so called universal" bell. The one to which I referred is made of cast iron, is about 60 pounds and is fitted for a low mount starter. It also has a cast in lip on its inside and the 833 for sure won't mount to it. I think what you were asking in this thread is if the bearing retainer hole in the bells on ebay was 5 1/8 diameter as opposed to the smaller hole. I think. Let us know what you get when it comes! rock '64d100 |

Hey guys it's been a couple month and i now have another screen name. I'm 83miser. I have put the truck on hold but now am ready for it to go back together. I have the bellhousing as previously mentioned, as well as a new clutch kit. THE trouble is the pivot for the release fork is different. on the new one it does not have the "ball stud" pivot as the broke one does. Nor does it have a casted ''boss" for it to thread into once other type pinion bracket is unbolted. I'm considering carefully modifying it to accept the ball stud pinion for my release fork. OR, could I find the other type fork and use it more easily. Has anyone successfully attempted this? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. |
