Post subject:  Three point seatbelt swap

Last night I pulled the modern style seatbelts out of my '74 parts Dart with the intention of installing them in my '69 Dart and it looks like the only issue will be the retractor box on the floor behind the seats. There doesn't look to be room for it on the '69. The parts Dart is across town so I can't run out and look but I seem to remember it having more room between the rear bench seat and the door opening than the '69. Assuming that's true but I find a solution, there's still the fact that there isn't going to be any mounting arrangement down there like on the newer car. What to do...

Has anyone tried this before?

Also, the B-pillar isn't reinforced for either the lower or upper mounts on the '74 style belts. Also, the '74 belts are a damnuisance because of their belt-sensitive locking mechanism (jerk the belt or move suddenly in the seat and they lock, '75+ belts are much less annoying with their pendulum car-sensitive locking mechanism).

You'd be better off reading this thread.
