i need the replacements for my 80 doba of the fender extender pieces. i cant find them anywhere. i do know i would pefer fiberglass over the once in a while orginal 27 year old plastic pieces you find on ebay deal. cause i mean, its still 27 year old rubber/plastic junk, how much longer is it realy goin to last before it cracks apart and falls out? i have had my car two years and still no luck on finding reproduction fiberglass pieces. i need them before the end of the year *peferably asap cause it realy makes the car look like crap* around october-ish cause thats when im getting it painted and all the chrome and eblems redone. the last step in the restoration. and yes, i AM restoring a j body. i dont expect much critisim in here, bein its a slant six forum, but still. at the young and poor age of 20, i cant afford a big block charger or what not right now. besides, i like my car, and it has sentimental value. my 1st true big old RWD mopar!! then all next year is saving for a down payment on an srt-8 challenger. they look bad ass. i plan longer on this resto though cause im sure if i find a deal on a 63 to 77 mopar thats too good to pass, im not goin too. and theres where the v8 comes in...

Do you still have the old parts? If so, as Seth mentioned, you can use them to make a pattern, then a mold, then a copy.
For details on fiberglassing, do some 'net searches. The boat crowd and car audio speaker enclosure folks have some good ideas.
My hints on working with fiberglass?
1. Release agent. Lots of release agent.
2. Gloves, masks, drop cloths, and masking. Fiberglass and resin can be incredibly messy.
Don't toss your pattern, or the mold, when you're done.

thanks guys. i have been thinkin about making my own. thing is i only have one piece in good shape left. and that is the right rear. which would be fine for the rear, but i know the front is a bit different. when i 1st got the car all the pieces were there. soon after it all started to break apart and fall out. fun fun fun!! *remembers the old bumper sticker "honk if parts fall off"* i know the body style of the 80 to 83 aint great, perticularly compared to the 75 to 79s, but i think, done right, this will still be a sweet ride that will attract plenty of attention. hell ever since i have had it i have gotten plenty of questions and comments, from young and old. and i love that. perticularly from the older guys. its good to know that they dont see just a punk kid in an old beater, but a mopar afficiano, who enjoys the classics as much now as they did when new. and now adays with people the way they are, and all the ricers out there, thats fairly rare. though i do have to mention i do have a guilty FWD pleasure. in the form of the 91 and 92 spirit r/ts. i also owned an 89 spirit, and loved that car. it was comfertable, rode good, handled like it was on rails, was fast and got good milage. and of course i had the buckets with floor shifter, 7000 rpm tach *factory* and 120 mph speedo *factory* and belive me it would do it too. whats realy ironic is that i had that about 3 years ago, around a year before i got the doba. it was white with a red inteiror. and guess what color combo the doba is??

For the missing pieces, you might try carving/sanding craft-store foam to the shape you want, then make the mold from that.
