I have at least 3 BBD's. One junk yard piece off a 73 318, one I bought for $10 that was shiney and fresh looking. They both have plastic vent fittings.

The other is maybe a "tin top?" I am taking it apart and taking pics as I go. I has an idle screw broke off in it. Where it came from I can't remember.

Tell me oh "BBD GUHRU'S!!!"

Post subject:  Casting number?

if the carb doesn't have a tag anymore, then look on the side of the body for a casting number/etc..., one of us might have that information....

No tags. They have numbers on the bottom of the throttle bodies. And they have numbers on the passenger side of the fuel bowls. What number you need?

Casting numbers are no good, they can't be used to ID the carb application since the same castings were punched out and machined a bunch of different ways for different carbs.

Pictures!

Just picked up another BBD. This one has no bowl vent lever. The tiny rods and jets like the 2361 carb.

It has no way to attach an air cleaner, no egr fittings. Just PCV, vac advance, and choke pull off.

Casting number is 0-1676. $5 carb from the swap meet.

Some of the early 273 cid V8 motors uses a screw clamp to attach the air cleaner to the air horn of the carburetor; that might be what you have.

That's a '64-'65 BBD for a 273 or 318. 1966 was the first year on BBDs for the bail-and-wingnut air cleaner attachment you're used to seeing; prior to '66 the air cleaner had a jackscrewed clamp band that clamped onto the outer diameter of the air horn.
