Found an ad for this system in last month's Hod Rod magazine...anyone currently using one of these on their /6?

Any thoughts on the pros/cons of a system like this?

Sure, it will probably work ok, I just don´t see any reason to use it.

I'm not ready to spend $3K on anything for my car, much less a turbo. Still, I'd like to see some real dyno and track numbers, and an installation on something besides the usual Cormarobirdstang.

Why bother in a slanted car?

It would avoid some of the exhaust manifold modifcation/fabrication. It would still require some more basic exhaust modification and bracket fabrication to mount downstream. That's still easier than welding cast iron or fabbing headers.

One could use existing headers.

Conventional turbo piping would tend to clog up the engine bay of a narrow-body A. The turbo-to-carb/throttlebody tube shouldn't be as hard to work around.

It might make airconditioning and power steering a little easier to engineer for those who want them.

Here's another thread asking the same question.

horsepower TV had a Vette with twin rear mount turbos that added almost 200 hp on the chassis dyno, and they didn't think it added much lag. They were quite impressed.

I voiced my opinions in the earlier thread, but in a nutshell, I don't think a slant 6 motivated car is a good candidate. Maybe a new car with no room under the hood, but not a slant.

I looked at that site before deciding to go with James Jaggers. I would not like a 3000 dollar turbo setting under my race car much less a street car. To many things could wipe it out. We are going to build a 8.5 compression Slant with 2.2 turbo pistons and presurize the Holley 4150 carb to about 12 lbs that is our goal . And lets see what happens. Thanks Ron Parker

You have to remember that all their tests seem to be on late model, injected cars. That will make a huge difference in throttle response and turbo lag.

Their twin turbo test was on a Z-06. That thing will kill the tires to start with.

Don't think it was a Z06 as it was a '05 convert and I'm pretty sure the Z06 doesn't come on the convertibles, and I'm not even sure the Z06 option was available in '05. I'm no Vette expert, though. It's the same one that's shown on the STS website when you look at the C6 Vette kit.
