Have any of you ever painted a valve cover using the bedliner material? I've seen a pickup or two with the spray in bedliner, and think it would look pretty good on a valve cover. If you've done it, got a picture? |

Eek. The mental image I come up with is those messy engine bays where someone has taken in a car to be undercoated, and the shop does a sloppy job and gets that gunk all over everything. Black or red crackle-finish paint I can understand using on a valve cover, if you're willing to wash the engine periodically to keep it clean. Factory-type engine paint, I can understand using, too. But bedliner material...? |

Powder coating is the best way to go. Drake Coatings can do this for you and it will be the best. Thanks Ron Parker Bagels On Juice Im On Boost |

Isn't it some sort of plastic? I'd think it would melt............. |

Yes, powder coating is plastic. No, it won't melt. |

But you could throw your tools on it without scratching. I don't think it's made for the heat either. Not my personal taste for underhood detailing either. |

Although your slant won't get hot enough(hopefully!)to melt it, powder coat actually does melt.......that's how you get the finish. No, it won't melt. |
