normally i can find good deals on stuff, but the best price i can find around here for my 65 Cuda is $313.

is that at least in the ballpark for W/S glass and installation? seems high to me.

That's right on the money assuming the rubber gasket and lockstrip are good. I just checked with one of my guys and asked him for a "Joe Schmoe off the street price" and he told me $313.64 installed.

I paid $279, and that was with a new gasket. He said he could do it for $179 if it didn't need a new gasket (it needed one, the gasket was $100). The guy I called before him quoted me about $400. Another guy quoted me about $179 also (I assume he would not have included a gasket for that price).

I have a 73 Dart, so that could be the difference.

Just curious, how much to replace the rear glass on one of those old Cudas

The part number is in the NAGS database but it is listed as "NLP" which means "No List Price." The glass is unavailalbe from traditional sources so I don't know without a lot of research how much it would cost, if it can even be found new. The weatherstrip is listed at $153.00

Post subject:  window trim clips?

A solicitor called a few years back, asking if I had any windshields that needed replacing. They quoted me over $600 for my '76 Dart Swinger! I'm getting it done now for $265 as soon as I can find the little clips that hold the chrome trim on. Anyone know of a source for those? I haven't been able to find them yet, so the glass guy is on hold...

Slanted Opinion, crickhollow warned against that vendor here: http://slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21432

Now more than ever, you have to be really careful what you're getting when you have glass replaced. There's a great deal of garbage from China on today's market, and given that the Chinese have zero qualms about cheating on materials specs and falsifying safety tests, I do not accept this trash on my car. Ask specifically where the glass you're getting was made. It may well cost extra to get name-brand glass (PPG, Safelite, Herculon, Pilkington, Sicursiv, Sekurit, Safeguard, Guardian, or one of a couple of others) made in a country where material specs and safety tests actually mean something, but it is very much worth the extra cost.

You can usually find them on ebay, also The Paddock, and maybe at a local auto paint supply store.
