I recently had a 3 day visit from Dart 270 to Australia,So i pre assembed a spare slant race engine so we could do a couple of days of engine dyno work.This was the fist time i had engine dynoed a N/A slant in about 10 years. First run it pulled 333 HP & 330 ft lb & after the first cam change it made 347 HP & 344 ft lb. That was as good as it got as we ran out of cams & heads & Lou had a plane to catch.I now have a couple more cams & things to try wich will happen soon. The engine runs 3 x 45 webers & 100 oct gasoline. More to come : Cameron |

 Amazing. Makes me really want to start collecting parts for a race slant that I can swap back and forth with a mild daily driver slant. |

I am now back in VA from my second trip to NZ and Oz... Had a great time in Sydney, Australia with Mr. Turbine. The most notable part about that engine was the super fat torque curve - over 320 ft-lbs from 3500 to 5700. I cannot emphasize enough how useful engine dyno tuning can be. We did cam swaps in <1hr and head/cam swaps in ~2hrs with 2 guys working. Adjustable cam sprocket made cam timing changes happen in 15 min. 5 cams, 3 heads, carbs, cam timing, ignition.... Lou |

Numbers like that are why Cameron and family are regarded as Slant gurus in Australia.

Tried another cam last weekend & gained a little more,354 @ 5900rpm. 1 more flat tappet on the way & then its time to test a roller. To answer 1 of Dougs questions comp is 12 to 1. More to come |

I've always heard that the 3 sidedraft Weber setup was the unbeatable combination on a slant. |
