| Post subject: | Speedo Problem |
Alright, so about a year ago (before i parked my car and began to do the super six conversion) I was driving down the freeway, and my speedo hopped all the way up as far as it could go, then back down and never moved again. Going home, i unthreaded the cable from the back of the speedo and found that the cable end pulled out. Thinking that this must mean that the cable is broken, I took it to a gauge guy to get it repaired. So, after it was repaired, i took it home, hooked it up, and my speedo still didn't work. So, last night I got the speedo out of the dash and found that somehow the whole thing got stuck. I got it unstuck, and now it works, but it bounces about 20 mph around my actual speed. Anyhow, I was reading through the forum and found out that the cable is supposed to pull out from the dash end :\. My question is, will the cable that i got made work, or do i have to get an original-type one (mine doesn't pull out, but is the same length and has the correct ends on it)? If i need a new one, do you think that this is my only problem? Thanks, Allen |

I think the cable should work fine but you probably need to get the speedometer head rebuilt. Dan can probably recommend a shop in Canada. |

Yep, speedo head needs rebuilding. I don't know of a reliable shop in Canada. There probably is one, but I haven't shopped. The place I know is in Denver. |

I've had 2 speedometers done by Denver Speedo based upon Dan's recommendation. Don't know how either will work as am not even ready on either one. The gentleman I talked to (John) seems to know what he's talking about. Price on each was about $130 including shipping. |
