Read Bob DiBiase's wonderful article on fuel injecting the slant with Buick batch fire EFI. Today I picked up the MAF sensor, the O2 sensor, the injector harness and injectors for an '86 3.8. These seemed to be the only parts on this engine that qualified for this application. Question is this, when I pulled the injectors from the manifold the brass end stayed in the manifold on several of them. I pulled these brass end caps from the manifold and saved them, and wonder if they can just be cleaned and pressed back on, or if they are damaged beyond use somehow? Appreciate in advance your help. spowell@aol.com |

These had plastic tips that I replaced with parts that came with the Tomco injector seal kit (P/N 27007, $12). I would guess that there is also a kit for the injectors used in the '86 3.8L engine. However, the metal tips may be more difficult to replace. Bob D BBobbias@aol.com |

The '86 is a sequential system and as such uses a different harness. As you said you can use the MAF and O2 sensor. You should also be able to use the fuel pump relay and the throttle body along with the IAC motor and TPS. Bob D BBobbias@aol.com |
