Hello

My 1973 Duster brake lights don’t work I have traced the wiring there seems to be no break, checked the bulbs, fuse also changed the brake light switch funny thing is the third light in the rear window runs off the same source and it works fine!! Is there something I missed all grounds are connected.

Thanks

Might be a bad directional signal switch.

Yep -- probably a bad directional (turn) signal switch. Remember, the wiring for the left & right brake lamps runs through the directional signal switch so as to allow the rear lamps to work as both brake and turn signal lights.

i bet your hazards prolly have a short in them too, dan is right. i had the same problem. the switch is easy to replace once you get the steering wheel off. if i remember right, it cost me about $60 at advanced auto... if needed i might be able to get you a part number
