Post subject:  Good source for replacement seat belts?

Hi all,

I am now getting back to some auto related projects. I need new lap belts for my 1965 A body. I am not interested in "restored" concours correct seat belts, but I would like something that looks roughly period correct, and keeps me from eating glass. Any recommendations for cheap, but effective seat belts?

Thanks,

Greg

Here (-->Catalog -->Safety restraint products) are close-to-original style lap belts for $40 (they can also provide numerous different original-type buckles). And here is a large variety of lap, 3-, 4-, and 5-point belts for retrofitting. Sandy's had good results with the 4-point unit from the latter source, and the former is reputable as well.

I've found that J.C. Whitney's chrome buckle seat belts are almost indistinguishable from the originals. Here's the lap version:

And the shoulder version, which I have in my Dart:

However, mounting the shoulder part is pretty tricky. If I did things over again, I wouldn't have put them in the way I did.
