| Post subject: | Good source for replacement seat belts? |
Hi all, I am now getting back to some auto related projects. I need new lap belts for my 1965 A body. I am not interested in "restored" concours correct seat belts, but I would like something that looks roughly period correct, and keeps me from eating glass. Any recommendations for cheap, but effective seat belts? Thanks, Greg |

Here (-->Catalog -->Safety restraint products) are close-to-original style lap belts for $40 (they can also provide numerous different original-type buckles). And here is a large variety of lap, 3-, 4-, and 5-point belts for retrofitting. Sandy's had good results with the 4-point unit from the latter source, and the former is reputable as well. |

I've found that J.C. Whitney's chrome buckle seat belts are almost indistinguishable from the originals. Here's the lap version: http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Prod ... g-1#review And the shoulder version, which I have in my Dart: http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Prod ... 69/c-10101 However, mounting the shoulder part is pretty tricky. If I did things over again, I wouldn't have put them in the way I did. |
