| Post subject: | Hopefully helpful cluster info |
Recently it seems there has been a lot of questions and answers about instrument clusters and wiring. I have been helping someone with this and thought I would pass some of this info on. This info comes from work I'm doing on my 75 Dart so it may not apply to everyone. This info comes from (brace yourself) two haynes manuals :#30025 & #30050 , also from a download wiring diagram, and the underdash harness from my car ( I know, I know, 8 years and still no FSM Female multi pin conn from back of cluster: A == Dbl* 20g brake wrng lamp/ oil pressure wrng lamp - from multi pin conn to fuse block - from that 3 amp fuse to a Dbl* 14g wire that branches to main bulkhead conn positon N , which leads into the Alt / Vlt Reg circuit The other branch leads to the ign conn under the steering colum. B == Dbl 20g from multi pin conn to fuel sending unit C == V 20g from multi pin conn to temp sending unit (mine is seperate from main blkhd conn) D == Org 20g cluster lamps - from multi pin conn to a branch circuit- from branch to fuse block- from that 3 amp fuse a Tan 20g wire to the head lamp pull switch - also from the branch an Org 20g to ign conn base of colum E == R & R* 18g both from multi pin conn R to hi/low ft sw R* to main blkhd position Y F ==LtGn 18g left turn indicator -from multi pin conn to turn signal conn under steering colum - from the same pin on turn signal conn to main blkhd conn position S G == Tan 18g right turn indicator-from multi pin conn to turn signal conn under steering colum - from same pin on turn signal conn to main blkhd conn pos. V H == empty J == empty K == Bk & Bk both 20g - from multi pin conn one- low brake wrng sw - wire goes to main blkhd position M one - parking brake switch - wire goes to switch L == Gry 20g from multi pin conn to oil pressure sendng unit (seperate from main blkhd conn - goes through fire wall in a gromet with the temp sender wire ) * denotes tracer color on wire Again this from a 75 Dart that has a factory 8g wire from the alt to the ammeter - If you find any mistakes please feel free to correct them thanks jeff l |
