I recently purchased an electric trunk release setup off this board to install in my 69 Valiant. If you purchased and installed the same setup, could you tell me what fuse you used to protect the circuit? I was surprised to see the difference in wires using it. At the release button the wires were very tiny and at the latch itself they were what I would have expected: somewhere in the 14 to 16 ga range. Thanks for your help.

If you're seeing very tiny wires at the pushbutton, it's possible the pushbutton was used to trip a relay, which in turn sent power to the latch solenoid, but this seems unlikely, for it's not that big a solenoid and shouldn't draw much in the way of current. The more likely explanation is that this is an example of USDM cost-cutting.

What fuse would I use? I'd probably start with a 2A fuse. Or, if I were taking power for the trunk release off an existing circuit, I'd leave the existing circuit's fuse alone.
