My son's 63 Dart 270 (225-6) is screaming everytime you step on the clutch. sound like it's time for a new throwout bearing. While I'm in there I figure I'll put in a new clutch kit (pressure plate, clutch plate, etc. I know very little about this car's history, but in looking at the parts catalogs it looks like there are two possible sizes for the clutch, 9 1/4 or 10 inch. I'd like ot order the parts ahead of time, is there any way to tell which one I have before tearing it down? I haven't put in clutch in a car in a long time, any tips or tricks I should know about?

Thanks in advance!!

You have the 9.25 clutch.

Replace the pilot bushing in the crank when you do your clutch.

Pay lots of attention to how all the trans and clutch linkage go together...This is FSM stuff.

Check the input bearing on the trans.

Lubricate the linkage as you reassemble.

If you havent seen one, the Ujoint on the back of your trans may surprise you...once again use the FSM and follow their maintenace procedures.
