| Post subject: | Replacing head bolt with studs |
Hello everyone, did anyone do this with success? I'd like to replace the head bolts with studs and nuts because it's easier for me to find studs the right size (go figure...). And would some 8.8 quality be enough or should I go 12.9 (which tends to breaks rather than extend actually...). Thanks for your help Marc |

All right, But can I do it with regular studs? ARP ones are uprated ones I guess... By the way, a question I should have asked first : are the head bolts reusable? Thanks, Marc |

Yes, SL6 head bolts are reusable and should have some stretch quality to them. A head bolt acts like a spring in order to keep constant pressure on the gasket. DD |
