Yesterday when I was driving the Duster I heard a faint *ting* and noticed that my speedo took a dump as I romped on the gas while turning a corner (wanted to see if I could break the back end loose, but the tires only chirped, booya). When I got back I saw that the cable was slipping off the speedo head, so I pushed it back on and took it for a spin around the block and everything worked fine. Today I drove it to the cleaners and as I was puttering along at about 30, I happened to see the needle quickly max out, heard a *crack* and the needle dropped to zero. There went my speedo cable

Looks like I'll be starting on the Autometer project sooner than I expected...
