Where can I find a manual choke set up that will work with the carter bbs dual offy set up on a 225 slant in a 64 dart 270. I really only want to set it up on the rear carb, closest to firewall. Checked Summit, Laysons and Paddock. Also didn't find any thing at JC Whitney. Please help!!!

A choke only on the rear carb...? Why? :?: Seems to me if something's worth doing, such as putting in a choke system, it's worth doing right.

Manual-choke conversion kits, even when they were reasonably widely available, were generally of pretty cheesy quality. There were manual-choke Carter BBS carbs available on trucks and vans, and the quality of the engineering (and resultant function) was much better.

Have you looked at this thread about choke arrangements with the Offy 2x1?

I plan on using the Offy dual carb setup, too, and I figure the key to getting the motor to run properly is to synchronize the carbs so that their operation is identical (as much as possible)...i.e. both carbs should have a choke. I think that most here will confirm that.

I think the choke setup in the thread that Dan linked to is the way to go. It doesn't look too hard to make work...but then again, I may eat my words when I actually start fabricating it and making adjustments.

Ok. I saw it before but didn't really get it. I kinda get it now and I am guessing it utilizes the automatic choke well on the exhuast manny. I have the well but removed the choke as it was damaged. I've seen them on ebay and at Laysons. Also saw the electric set up in a thread with good reviews, how would that work in relations to the pics in the offy thread? Is it a better wa to go all around???

Never buy anything from Layson, for he is a con artist and a thief!

Exactly as pictured/described.
