...are still mechanical, correct? Seems weird that they wouldn't have started making electronic ones years ago, especially with the cost of a new regulator. |

Mine's solid state! 7805 Voltage limiter from Radio Shack. Had to look at the printed ciruit board a little, but it's not tough to install. |

Yeah I did that upgrade on the original (toasted) VR in my ex's Dart. Worked like a champ, but I was just wondering if the new replacement units are still mechanical, because I'm not going to bother doing the solid state conversion with my stock cluster since they'll be getting replaced by Autometer gauges in short order.
