That motor was Australia only. It is called a Hemi, but it is not really a Hemi. :?

Let me know if you have any questions on the engines, I have 5 of them in the garage at the moment, along with a VF ute powered by one... and a six-pack powered one in an Oz Charger as well (which is off for paint at the moment actually :P )

As 'zilla said, they are not true Hemi's, but more of a poly shape design. Still an awesome engine that made as much as 302 horsepower from the factory in stock form.

Here is a pic of one of the ones I just unloaded if you were curious..
You can see what the auto trans looks like they use as well (Borg Warner)

Must be tough to get parts and expensive.

I try and keep plenty of spare parts in stock for them (along with all the engines) so works out ok :D

As for expensive, depends on what you consider expensive I suppose...I have sold a bunch over here in the past, and I think it's not too bad for one of them landed over here in the States and ready to be grabbed.

Does the bellhousing face match the slant?

What do you get for an engine?

Nothing matches a slant actually, but the top bellhousing holes line up with a small block, the outer bolts are just further out.
The are about 3.5" longer then a slant too, so kinda tight in a US engine bay (The Aussie cars have a longer engine bay to make room for them)

Price wise, looking at like a grand for one...(sitting here in SoCal that is)

I'm glad you finally realise that, but you're preaching to the converted.

One other issue is the fact that they rotate the other direction, right Oz?

Sounds like the makings of a playground fight.

That I finally realize it ? I have been into and owned the 265's over here since early '98 and built a few of them..and imported probably 20+ of them.

True, but if you install them upside down, that fixes that

What's nice about installing them upside down is how easy it is to change the oil with the pan on the top !! Ha! Ha!
