Post subject:	instrument voltage regulator
hello all, i have a question about this instrument voltage regulator. I bought one, read the fine article on how to install one but my instrument cluster is a 63 and the printed circuit board is different. So on which other 2 posts do the wires go? (and no its not in the FSM manual). the ground wire is obvious.

Your '63's original instrument cluster voltage limiter is built into the fuel gauge, not an external plug-on unit like the '66-up cars have. You have the same upgrade option (fabricate an electronic regulator) and you can make the external regulator work, but first you'll have to clip out the limiter components built into the fuel gauge and make some minor mods to the circuit board. well i bought the regulator, don't know if it will help with the gauge issues i have ( had electricial short, got fsm, fixed problem hooked up gauges and they drifted way far right, got scared unplugged them now wondering what to do)

The gauges are fed a constant 5-6 volts. The resistance thru ground varies, fully grounded pegs the gauge. Test two things: -The voltage feeding the gauges. (5-6 volts, pulsing) -The resistance thru the sending unit. (see the FSM for this range) DD

So at the multipin connector that feeds the gauges this pulsed 5-6 volts, i switch on ignition i need to check the appropriate pin(s) on that connector for said voltage?
