Well a two weeks ago a cab ran a stop and hit my poor 72 dart. It wasnt too bad, but the drivers corner of the hood and headlight suround got mangled. My headlights worked fine up untill a day ago and now the headlights dont work at all. My parking lights in the grill, turn signals, and tail lights still work but the headlights dont. I checked some of the connections so see if the accident knocked anything loose, but everything seemed fine. Any thoughts on this because I am not really an electrical person. Thanks, Matt |

Typical cab driver behaviour: "Rules are for other people, not for me!" (Or: "I come from a place where there are scarcely even roads, let alone laws, so I'll just keep on behaving as if I'm still back in Elbonia.")Quote: My headlights worked fine up untill a day ago and now the headlights dont work at all.
You will need a voltmeter or a test light to nail down and fix this problem. Do you have either of those tools?

Perhaps a headlamp wire has become pinched (or rubbed against a sharp piece of metal resulting from the accident) and then blew a fuse or fusible link. |

I have seen both headlight bulbs go bad, on more then one occasion. I would check the bulbs, first. Either just plug in a new bulb, or unplug the connector, and use a test light, to see if you have 12 volts at the connector. KISS theory (Keep It Simple Stupid). |

Also, lift up the carpet and make sure the connector hasn't come off the beam selector kickswitch. |
