"Should" be SuperSix short block, no other casting number than whats shown in pic from drivers side. 030 - 6 and the other *2695*. Stamped in pad are 25R (or F) 2 9 29 and also stamped on another pad is 6 1159 ![]() Tried to check from articles page table, but no luck without casting number. It's a 5 freeze plug block, and perhaps '79 but is it? |

No such thing as a "Super Six block". The Super Six was a US/Canada marketing name for the 2bbl carburetion package; the only different pieces were the intake manifold, the carburetor, the air cleaner, the throttle and kickdown linkages. Block, head, and internal parts were the same. Can we see a picture of the cleaned-up stamping pad? |

I know I know Dan... what I meant is that this perhaps leads to late seventies rather than early 60's. It has the correct 2bbl manifold and even air cleaner for super six setup, but I'm after whether the short block is "original" or not, since by the casting the head had changed at some point. Sorry the stamped numbers are so weak that my camera doesn't catch them |
