I need to replace the window felts on my 72' Swinger two door hardtop. Is this hard to do? Also where can I get a decent set? Any help much appreciated. |

Easy, just takes a little patience. I bought mine several years ago at Year One, but there are probably better sources. Just slide the old ones out (or cut 'em out), and slide the new ones in. I used a little dishwashing soap to help 'em along. I think I used a shop towel wrapped around them and a pair of pliers to work them down. It's been a while, but I don't remember it being hard. |

Thanks for the reply vynn3. The window will be rolled all the way down of course, do you mean slide them forward towards the front of the car or up and out. I can't really see how they are held in and the shop manual is not very helpful. |

Ah, you must be talking about the weatherstripping. The window felts (what I was talking about) are the seals that follow the rear of the front/side glass where it meets the rear/side windows (on a 2dr hardtop). That's easy.I've never replaced any of the other weatherstrip. Sorry I couldn't help. I'm sure someone else can. Best of luck! |
