I finally got my Pertronix Ignitor II working. Not being a mechanic, the 20 minute job took over a week and a half. Okay, so I got it running before then. I just had some major problems with the timing. And then I got lost there. My stepdad gave me the tip I needed to get back on track.

But the reason for writing is this. My Pertronix Ignitor initially didn't work, because in my 1963 Dodge Dart, there was no ground wire inside the distributor. Once I hooked up a ground wire inside there, it fired right up.

I also learned from Pertronix the wiggle is okay under the rotor. He said that is what makes it so nice. The gap isn't all that important to be right on.

Whatever..... Thanks again for your help.

The distributor should already be grounded and the plate mounting screw should give you the ground. Maybe not in your case. Didn't need an extra wire in my '63 Valiant.

Glad you got it working.

Glad you got it running. Ours runs smooth all the way to 6000rpm, going to push it 6500 next weekend. Talk to you later Don
