Post subject:  Dropping in my enging. Electrical questions.

I am getting ready to drop in my new project 225. It is a 70 block going into my 67 ragtop dart. I have already installed an electronic distributor on my engine. I know how to do the hei conversion. I have a new dual field type alternator.
Question is this. Do I need to replace my old style regulator. I think I reead that somewhere on this board. If so is there a similar regulator that I can use with the existing wiring. I would rather not have to rewire too much. Also does anybody have a part number for it if it exists?
Thanks
Charlie

If you want to carry on using your existing regulator, connect one of the alternator's two field terminals to ground. It doesn't matter which. If you want to change to the later regulator type, now or later, you'll be able to do so by ungrounding the grounded field terminal and adding a couple new wires.

Is your '67 an automatic car, or stick-shift? If automatic, you need the 1/8" adaptor ring for the '68-up crankshaft counterbore so it'll mate up correctly with the earlier torque converter.

Oh thanks Dan. Forgot to say. I used a 904 out of a 76 Dart. Problem there will be to get the proper transmission connector on my 67 speedo cable. Seeing as how the 76 had the tire size I will be using I don't think I will even need to worry about calibrating my pinion thingy.
Thanks for the electrical tips.
Charlie
