This subject has had some heated debate here. I think it depends on how much work you are willing to put in. The turbo set up is a home made thing no real support in that area but there are guys here that have killer setups that they have put togather.

The supercharger is easier if you go with a procharger supercharger they have a kit for that but a classic roots style is in the same area as the turbo, no one makes intakes and stuff for the 225.

easy bet go jato rocket :P
Its all about the same prices what ever you look at.

Nitrous is the easiest. There is no such thing as an easy "bolt-on" turbo or supercharger.

You can bolt-on the kit from the Supercharger Store, but they will un-bolt almost 6 grand from your wallet.

Nobody gonna unbolt or even pry 6 grand out of my pocket.

If you are basing your choices on whats easiest....leave it stock

Have you guys called the supercharger store on the price? When I spoke with the owner at mopars at the strip I thought he said it was in the 3k price range. I'll double check on that.

OK your right its $5795 for the hole kit minus a 4bbl intake, 3/8 fuel delivery/return lines. What it does come with is the supercharger (7.5-8psi), a carb set up for it, stage 1 water injection system, surge protection valve, electric fuel pump, and all the stuff to bolt it on(hat/hoses/tubes).

380 hp at 5500 rpm on 7 1/2 psi of boost. Its on the web site. He said its cheaper with out the water injection sys. buy $795.

In most cases a supercharger is easier due to no tricky exhaust work.

Is that 380 hp on a pretty much stock motor?

Less plumbing with a Supercharger. Less inertial drag with a Turbo charger. Less heat with a super charger. More potential effiency with a turbo. I say potential because if it is sized too small and goes into boost readily, you are going to burn alot more gas. More stuff under the hood with a turbo. It's all alot of work, but fun if you have the time and money, and don't mind the headaches of working out the bugs.

Less presicion needed to mount the turbo, it don´t mind being a bit off level.
Nice if you want to fab it up at home, with a welder and sawsall.

I have a supercharger setup almost done on my 64 Dart. I made the crank pulley, mounting bracket, oil lines and inlet pipe. I bought a Vortec V1 used for $450 (A bargain!), a Demon blow through ready carb for $550 and miscellaneous parts for another $300. I already had a 4bbl intake, headers and a big valve/ported head which is not neccesarily needed. I will probably have to put in another $200 once I start tuning. Water or methanol injection or an intercooler is nice to have but not terribly necessary at 5-6lbs of boost.
If I go to 12lbs of boost, I will need to go with a whole new engine and water/methanol injection for more power and protection against predet.
Just depends on what you can do yourself, are willing to do yourself and/or willing to pay for.
Nitrous is a quick and much easier way to get a lot more power though.

   <-- Funny lookin

We are building a turbo Slant engine from the ground up. I think you have to do that for maximun power and durabilty. All our parts will go to Gary Bruner at Wilkesboro. Both of us will be racing there. He said he could not start the engine before that so that is a moot point. It will be a blow thru carb on gasoline. We are doing some r/d first with a Clifford four barrel intake. All the parts im useing were easy to find or buy. Forged 2.2 turbo pistons 198 rods Comp Cam Turbocharger carb ect. The Holy grail is the exhust manifold and I am lucky on this because James Jaggers at Jaggers Fabrication has built two stainless steel exhust manifolds and I got one. He wants to build them and sell them but we have to get the bugs and learning curve under control. I would also want to get a Durta Dual and see if an adpter could be fabricated reasonably inexpensive for another option. Thanks Ron Parker

im lookin at doin a turbo 6. first goin to go with a 180 off the stock manifold for the first setup probably to get the car runnin and tuned(efi). after shes goin, probably work on a setup with dutra duals merging to one(i can't make headers)

generally a turbo is harder cause of hot pipes runnin everywhere, but a slant engine bay has a whole side to fit hot parts, and the exhaust comes out only one side. u can also get junkyard or rebuilt turbos off of GNs or some of the imports for cheap if u wanted, or a used aftermarket one off of somebody goin bigger.
