| Post subject: | Squeeling noise under the hood |
Just recently ive been hearing a squeeling/squeaking noise under the hood. Now it only happens when the car is in drive. Havent checked reverse but it doesnt make the noise in neutral or park. I looked under there and couldn't seem to find the problem. It sounds to me like its coming from the throat of the carb because when I cupped my hands around it, the sound changed and muted a bit. Does anyone know what might be causing this? It gets pretty loud if I mash on the gas. The car is a 71 Duster with a freshly rebuilt motor and just had a super six setup put on it. Could this be a vacuum leak of some sort? I just don't get why it only happens when im in gear. |

You sure it's not the alternator/fan belt or power steering. I say this b/c one day my car started sqealing didn't do it park in nuetral b/c i guess it was at some smoother rpms and engine was a bit louder but in drive when the rpms drop and bit you could hear it not to mention when i stepped on it nice and loud. maybe thats your problem but it could be something else i put a new belt on purrs like a tiger now |
