| Post subject: | Hyd to solid change? |
A friend has an '83 ram pickup and wants to convert it to a solid lifter cammed engine. What all would you need? Im thinking cam (obvious)+solid lifters,and the adjustable rocker system. Anything else different>? What cam bearings>>? |

Cam, lifters (buy good ones), pushrods and rocker shaft assembly are all you'll need for hard parts. The cam bearings only need to be changed if worn. Many folks here have found the hydraulic cam journal to be grooved rather than the bearing. |
