1. Slant Six power is more about careful work than buying parts and kits. Check out Doug's thread on "Twiggy", his all-aluminum slant. 2. Clifford has a bad reputation for service, especially for long delays in getting parts out. There are occasionally quality issues as well. Unfortunately, there are few competitors. OFFY has a few items, Doug Dutra has the split exhaust manifold, etc. |

before you go and plunk some quid on that stuff do a search and check out the stuff I posted about making a 'street' hyperpak, Greg Ondayko has some good stuff on his car...you will want to carefully plan your combination, it's not an 'easy' install and tune job to start with. -D.Idiot |

For a good street built without waiting forever, The Offy intake manny is a good choice. You can find them used on Ebay, or still order them new from many differnt places. The Clifford intakes can be found also on Ebay, or other used sources. Including HyperPacks used if you keep a eye out. Putting a good amount of work into the head will always pay off no matter what power level your looking for. A over bore of the cylinders with a set of good forged pistons is one that will help alot. Without getting into a lot of hassle, having Vanola make you a set is a good way to go & they are probably the best pistons you can buy for the /6. Its not that the Clifford stuff is not good for power, because it is. Its just they have scaled down so far that if you order something from them they take forever to get it. A good place to start out would be to give a description of your car & setup, and come up with a reasonable goal of performance that you are looking for, how much money you are willing to spend. This would give the guys a very good idea of where to piont you for getting the things you need. There is more than one way to achive things also, but knowing what you want to do, & what you have to work with, & how much your willing to spend, will go along way toward getting you the info, parts & performance your looking for. The major problem with Clifford is that they stock very few parts for the Slant anymore. They take orders and have a run made when they get enough. They will tell you your parts are in stock and they are going to ship every time you call. Bad part is that they will also charge your credit card when your order is placed. You may get your parts in a week or it may be 6 months.  The only Clifford part I would run on a mild street Slant would be their headers. Their intake is the best one for a serious street/race motor, but an Offy is better hands down for a pure street car. Their cam designs are all 30+ years old. There is much better stuff available now from most any cam company.
