Hello - first time posting here. I'm having trouble finding a speedometer cable for my 1961 Valiant. I was told it wouldnt be too difficult to find one, but I've had no luck so far. I also need a front cable for my Parking/ Emergency brake. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Sam L.

Welcome on the board. I think you might be able to find both parts you're after from Andy Bernbaum, 617-244-1118 . There are other common tweaks, fixes and mods that with minimal effort or expense can make a '61 like yours nicer to drive. Is yours an original car, a modified one? Please tell us a little about yourself and your car.

check ebay -- if The place Dan recommended doesn't have it-- 1 thing to note your 61 will have more items in common with a 1960 than a 1962 valiant---.
I believe your speedo cable is longer than the 62-66 cars-- but with rerouting the cable the later years might work.

as for the p-brakes they are different than the 62-66 cars-- they use the tranny cross member as a contact point . That will be a harder piece to acquire
