I have purchased a DevilsOwn water Meth injection kit, and have been installing that for the last week or so. That involved hanging out on their forum for a bit, hence my absence here.

The kit has you take the MAP signal line and tap into it for their controller signal. I guess they wouldn't tell you to do this if it didn;t work, but I was just wondering what in the design of the MAP sensor circuitry keeps this from altering the signal in any way? Is there any possibility that the voltage will be changed by reading it with another device? It seems like the map injection controller is another path to ground, and could change things in some way. Please remember that I am a self proclaimed elctronic dunce. Don't worry about insulting me. But, you don;t have to let me know I an electronic dunce. I already know that. Thanks.

Sam

It should not change the signal voltage. It would be a high impedence circuit, and not draw any current. It would be like putting a volt meter on the wire.

If it's reading voltage it probably has a high restance to ground which will not cause a significant voltage drop. You're prbably working with megohm resistances and microamp currents. Adding another load in that situation, assuming that it's approximately equal to the original will just not change things that much. Worst case you might have to tweak your tables, but you're probably going to need to do that anyway.
