Well, I was hoping my FSM would show up yesterday. It didn't. Maybe today??? Anyhow I want to get the oil pan on tonight. Can anyone tell me what the torque spec is for the rear main seal cap? I have always done the pan bolts to about 15-20 lbs. depending on gasket squish. Thanks guys, Chris E. |

30 ft-lbs on the seal retainer and 200 in-lbs on the pan bolts according to the 62' FSM. I would expect later models to be similar. |

Muchos gracias! Yeah I would imagine they would be close to the same. So 200 in lbs works out to 16-17 foot pounds. At least I was in the neighborhood there. Thanks again. I appreciate it! Chris E. |
