Post subject:  Installing Manifold Washers

The easiest way to install the manifold washers is by using 2 screwdrivers. Slide a washer over a long, thin screwdriver and then hold the screwdriver over one of the studs. Then, use another thin screwdriver to push the washer onto the stud. I've been doing it this way since I had my shop in '84 and it makes life a lot easier.

Great tip! A lot better than my cheezy bailing wire hook & flashlight trick.

I also think its a good idea to plug the exhaust pipe with a rag or wad of paper "just in case." I came close enough to dropping one down that black hole once, to say "Cripes dummy" should've thought of that sooner! But I'm sure most people do.

Good point! I forgot to mention that frustration saving tip.
