| Post subject: | Bigger valve |
I was wondering if there would be any advantage to installing a larger exhaust valve, leaving the intake the same size. My brother inlaw and I were shooting the bull about bigger valves and he mentioned he was going to try this on a non mopar engine. I was curious. |

The slants head was designed for the 170cid. They never updated it for the 225 or 198. A normally aspirated slant would benefit from both valves being enlarged. A turbo motor would probably do better with a larger exhaust/intake size ratio. |

Most engine builders like to keep valve size within a certain percentage, along with intake/exhaust flow. The number we shot for at the race car shop was 75% IIRC. A motor with too much exhaust flow gives up some power. |

Slant is already exhaust favored, so bigger intake and stock exh would probably be better. Lou |
