I'm wondering if a K frame from a 76 Dart Sport will bolt into a 64 Dart. I've got a 64 Dart Rag Top with a leaning tower of power and stabomatic, but I'm having a problem with finding a decent right motor mount for it Also the underside of the K frame has been dented way in and I won't be able to repair it without cutting it apart to do it. The 76 K frame is also for a slant six. I also like the idea of the spool type mounts as it appears that there is a lot of side thrust on the right mount, and although I planning on keeping it as close to stock as I can, I'm not above putting a super six set up on it and going for a little more snort.

I don't know what you consider a "decent" mount. I have used mounts from this vendor, without any problems. They are "offshore" parts.

This will take you right to your parts.

For whatever the reason the original ( or what came on the car when I got it) the right side motor mount has a 1" spacer under it.. I don't know if it was there from the start or it was put there to allow for more room between the dented up K frame. Either way, it seems to really stress the rubber on the motor mount. When I got the car the rubber was torn, and I replaced it and now I see serious cracks in this new one. Granted this new mount I got could still be the best part of 30 years old, even though it looks new. I figured that the other K frame wouldn't just fall into place, although if it doesn't take major reconstruction of the entire front of the car, I might be tempted to give it a try.

There are many, many differences from the 76 K frame to yours. If you have a nice stocker, why not try to find the right K frame for it? If you don;t mind hot rodding your car though, there are some features on the newer one that are nice. But once you start changing it, take my word for it, you are on your way down the road of real serious mods later on. Once you've changed one thing you'll say, what the heck, one more thing won;t hurt. But, Have fun. It is your car, and a very nice one in my opinion. It is a great hobby ay way you want to go with it.
