Baby's leaking all over the place and going through about a quart of water every couple weeks. Nothing's getting into the oil, so I know my head gasket is still good, and it all appears to be coming from the water pump. Soooooooo, who makes the best one to get? I see choices on Rockauto ranging from about 17 bucks to 70 bucks.

Jopapa,I've had good luck with Napa stuff. Could be what they have today is "imported" but the last one I bought for the /6 has bout 8thou miles and is working good. The one on my 360 has a couple thou and no problemo there either.Good luck,if they have 2 or 3 diff pumps each costing more and more go for broke.Thats no guarantee but mentaly it works 8) Also I switched to the orange aide antifreeze on the slant when I did the rebuild.Flush, flush, with distilled h2o and then filled with 50/50 orange mopar/distilled and haven't used or lost a drop yet :D

The Cardone new pump is Chinese. I don't like Chinese parts.

Everything Cardone touches turns into manure.

Last one I got from napa was made in canada - that was a month or two ago. One before that a year back from kragen I think, GMB brand was made in japan.

Until we can get some legislation that will require "country of manufacture or assembly" we're just going to have to ask the question and pick the part up and look it over. One of the reasons I don't care for mail-order parts these days unless they promise USA made and quality and those two things don't always go hand in hand anymore :x :( :(

Not only that, but the Chinese and the MBAs who contract with them are more than happy to stamp, cast, mould, or print "Made in USA" (or "Germany", or "Canada", or whatever) into the parts they make.

I think the requirement is something like 55% of material has to be made in the USA for it to have the stamp. But when sticker, pubs and packaging count, you see how it goes.

I'm not sure what the percentage is, but it doesn't really matter 'cause all kinds of merchandise is fraudulently marked as to its country of origin. Mostly by the Chinese.

Couldn't figure out which brand it is, but I got the Japenese made one (new) from Napa. Now once I get a free day I'll change that, my heater core (I think it's clogged up with old crap and I'm a little leary about running radiator flush through it), and fill 'er up with some new coolant and she'll be good to go for the cold winter.

Eventually I'll get a new radiator, but this one doesn't leak so I'll leave it be for now.
