I am running two 11" Spal electric fans off a Spal Module. Pretty cool piece until it turned into smoke today.
Just for your information they are not water proof as some sites claim. The Spal site just says there water resitant.
I had the car parked in the rain yesterday and apairently water ran down on to it. Started the car today and heard a pop. I thought I had thrown a belt. Popped the hood and the module had smoke pouring out of it. It stopped after about 20 seconds. I turned on the A/C (which brings the 1st and 2nd fan to full speed) and it began to smoke badly again. I shut it off and disconnected the battery.

The control is located just below the MSD box on the inner fender.

I would not have thought water would get on it there, but there was a little stream of water running under the MSD and leading to it.
I opened the controller and the top of the circuit board is not covered with that sticky circuit paste used for water proofing. The manufacture says that normal because the buttons would not fuction if it where.
