Instead of describing my question with needless rantings that cover a whole page, I'll post a simple open-ended question: What is the effect on a motor if the cam is advanced too much? I'll bet a slanter here has some "educated" knowledge about this... |

Well, I asked because I run out of steam at about 70 mph. I advanced the cam 1 whole tooth. (About 15*) Massive 4x4-like torque, but no road speed. Should I put it back a tooth?? Would I accelerate any faster? I'm thinking that with that much advance, Im running out of the powerband by about 2500. Opinions? Suggestions? |

Do you have a degree wheel. (you can print one off the internet)Degree the cam, advance it 6 degrees from "split overlap" if you want low-end power. DD |
