i can't seem to find the specs for the stock super six cam anywhere. anyone have any ideas what they might be? |

There's no difference between the 1bbl and 2bbl cams in those years. It's 244° intake, 244° exhaust, 26° overlap, and 0.414" / 0.420" lift, all figures "advertised". |

i've got a new clifford cam to install in the car, but im not sure what i need to do with the valves and or rockers to be able to install it. i've got new timing chain and gears, gaskets, high lift springs, retainers, valve locks, lifters and hardened pushrods. Am i forgetting anything i'm gonna need to install the cam successfully. |

You need to do a bunch of reading and prep work. ....and searching....and reading. Installing the springs is not a big deal if you have the tools and knowhow. Its a huge deal if you dont. There are issues regarding oil pumps and cams that you need to understand. Have you ever changed a timing chain before? |

no i haven't. at least not on anything as old as what im working with. i've done some work on DOHC imports. but the way i understand it the 2 jobs will have nothing in common. |

Do you know which clifford cam you have? Do you have the cam card? If you have done basic auto repair and have the correct tools, you can change the cam in a SL6 DD |

yea im capable of doing basic repairs. much more so than the average idiot can. i've been around cars all my life it's just that i dont know anyone who has done a cam swap in a slant. i dont have the cam card on me right now. but acording to the website. "With 264 degrees of duration your valve lift is 0.444" with 1.5 rocker ratio and .474 with 1.6 adjustable rocker ratio, the added valve lift helps you gain torque. This camshaft creates 80% of the torque curve at idle, and peak torque appears at 3,300 RPM, and peak horsepower occurs at 4,300 RPM. NOTE: CAM AND KIT INCLUDED Our cam kit includes high lift springs, retainers, valve locks, lifters and hardened pushrods (ball & cup style for adjustable rockers)." |
