WEEEEEEE

Did 3 X 2 way 1/4 runs this morning 92mph average!!!! with timing gun - got a buddy who is a traffic cop.

Conditions - overcast, no wind 23 celsius, 4970 feet above sealevel

Any ways this slant is more fun than a barrel of monkeys.

Switched over to a MSD Balster 3 coil ( no 2's in stock), Accel 8 mm wires , and accel rotor, gave it 11 degrees advance and what a pleasure

TIP : DO NOT use Pertronix wires they are absolute rubish

At first i thought i did something wrong - looked like a light show in the dark with all the arcing goin on, and a terrible idle, so got a second set, with the same result - this was with a pertronix coil, tried a generic coil, same result, tried other pertronix wires with both coils, same result, swapped rotor's, still the same...............

Got rid of the pertronix wires and all is ok , fitted the blaster 3 and life is a song - and that song is a slant going full bore :D :D :D

that`s a pretty good 1/4 mph time with 2.90 gears, is there a big difference in the africian intake :?:

looks a lot like the clifford 4bbl as far as layout is concerned - bigish plennum etc - but was meant for a carter afb with small boltpatern - used ~ 77 to 81 as factory standard - so I do have an adapter on it wich with a lot of patience I have nicley matched to the manifold and carb - dont you just love engineers blue and a dremmel?

I agree - she is a bit slow - relatively speaking - of the mark but once she get moving she just winds up - the induction roar once the secondaries opens up is music

I have a 3.23? rearend waiting to be installed- it has 10 inch drums, and the bigger boltpatern 4 1/2 inch it will go in as soon as I have my front 11 inch disc upgrade ready one advantage of the Australian rearend is that it moves the wheels outward by about 2 inches a side - more space for wider wheels, as well as getting rid of the 68 barracuda tippy toe stance in the rear

With the car performing like this I am starting to experience major fades and funky smells if I do not allow for cooling down - the 9 inch drums must go

The 2.90 gears are starting to complain about all the testing........ :D

yes those 3.23 will get you up and moving compared to 2.90`s,is the rear 81/4 or 83/4, i know the 81/4`s here are only 49in backing plate to backing plate
