I was able to locate a reproduction glove box liner for my '63 Valiant convt. Is there a trick to installing this thing? I'm afraid of forcing it through the front opening since these things are fragile even when new.

There's no real trick to it, you just have to be careful and patient. Make sure that everything is out of the way behind the box, ie: removing the defrost vent hoses, or any vacuum lines or heater control cables that may be behind or around the box that may interfere...try to give yourself as much room as you possibly can. Then try starting the new box thru the opening at an angle(side to side, not from top to bottom), then once it's all the way in the opening, straighten it up to align it to the opening. You can depress the box a little to make it go thru, just don't depress it so much that it creases the sides of the new box. Then reconnect everything that you had to move.

It can be frustrating, but it can be done.

Of course, the real easy way is to do it when the dash frame is either out of the car or it is rolled back on the two side frame mounting bolts where the frame bolts to the body of the car. In both cases here, the windshield would have to be removed to access the screws holding the front of the dash frame to the body.

That's pretty good! I don't think I'll opt for the easy way. I got a reply from the seller and he thought it should be installed from the rear, which of course means the heater has to be removed. Bummer.

What's the status of the reproduction fiberglass panels that cover the top mechanism on the 63 Dart convertible?

I've got a set on back order and am real curious.

You don't need to remove the heater core. Push it through the front. It's a tight fit, but it works and can be installed without creases or bends in the liner.
