Oh, an Amazon, _very_ cool. They're terrific cars. The parts support for these cars is excellent; you should have no trouble finding whatever-all you need. There are lots of internet resources, too...will post some of 'em next time I'm in the office. |

I had a '73 145E. I agree it would have been a nice car as a six. My car's B20 was a bit tired at 230k and the tranny was a screaming banshee. Also had a '74 Mercedes 230. Great body and chassis, but the side draft Stromberg carburetor was crap. I sold the car after the $400 blower motor died as it was another $700 labor to replace it. I swear they built the whole interior around the heater assembly. |

Nope, it's electronic. The 164Es like your FIL's '72 used Bosch D-Jetronic electronic fuel injection with the ECU under the passenger's seat. Volvo didn't switch to K-Jetronic mechanical fuel injection until 1974, and even the last two years of 164E ('74-'75) kept D-Jetronic.My '71 (4spd + overdrive, sunroof, etc., engine out, therefore high in front) is here. At the moment I wish I didn't own it 'cause I have my eye on another car. |

score today. I found a 68 in the junk yard. had the refletors for the front in excellant condition. and a nice fender with a small dent. the one on the wifes has a bad dent and cancer on the door. it has a good door to. going to part that thing out. no darts. but i found a seat in a 75 duster hoping it will fit my swinger. |
