Doesn't show up in the '73 or '74 FPC numerical indices. Where'd you find it? Could be a warning buzzer or a delay unit. Pop the plastic cover off the base and take us some good clear/sharp pics of what's inside. |

i'll have to borrow a decent digital camera, all i have is a cellphone camera. i found it when i was pulling the dash, and i am looking for anything i can replace at this point. i have replaced all the dash lights and still nothing. i have checked the fuse box and it looks good. i have almost checked everything and still i have no turn siginals (i have replaced the flasher and checked all the wires, i do know that the switch is good) no backup lights and no dash lights. i have no idea what i can do next to solve this issue. all the grounds are fine. HELP! |

That looks just like the buzzer in my 74 Scamp. It's great for reminding you in the most obnoxious manner possible to remove the key from the ignition. |

I think you are probably dealing with multiple problems, so you're chasing your tail looking for a single source of the problem. If all the other lights controlled by the headlamp switch work (headlamps, parking lamps, front and rear sidemarker lamps, tail lamps, rear licence plate lamp -- assuming they all have good bulbs), then the trouble is probably the headlamp switch itself, which can easily be had new and is not difficult to replace. Lack of turn blinkers and reversing lamps suggests a possible fault in the ignition switch, but before I'd replace that, I'd trace back along these circuits with a test light or voltmeter, looking for the last point in the circuit that shows line voltage relative to ground when probed. Nonfunctioning temp gauge: Does the fuel gauge work? |

yes the fuel gauge works fine, the spedometer and alt gauge works good also. |

OK, then assuming you've carefully checked the complete feed and ground paths to the temp gauge, it is probably the gauge itself that is faulty. |

The temp sender varies the resistance to ground. Trace back along the whole circuit...temp sender wire to its firewall electrical connection, underdash wire to the temp gauge, temp gauge feed to the master dash electrical connector and along the wire upstream of that, etc. |

Sure looks like the seat belt buzzer in Aaron's '74 Dart Sport. The little nub on the plastic housing fits in a hole and locks into place when you twist it in a metal bracket held in place by a screw immediately under the emergency brake handle. Or not...  Jerry |
