My stock 75 4 dr A/T Dart will get the following build: '73 Block w/.030 over pistons, Ported/Gasket-matched head w/stock valves & springs, Windage tray, High pressure oil pump, Offy 4-bbl intake w/Holley 390 carb, Cold air induction, Stock distributor (electronic), UNDECIDED on: electric or manual fuel pump? Dutra Duals or Headers? (should I even try to drive it with the stock exhaust/cat?) dodgedart75@hotmail.com |

I probably will need the cat for another 1 or 2 years to pass smog, which means I will probably need to keep the stock exhaust (for now). Do you think this will seriously hinder my flow? I now have the stock A/T and it seems to run OK. The only reason I don't plan to do the swap right away is because of the time and money involved, and the car is a daily driver. If so, please let me know : why. : : Thanx Glitch, Just so you know, for CA smog (at least LA area) you need a stock-appearing engine. So, the 4bbl/Offy intake will prevent you from passing. I could not get anyone (3 shops) to even put a smog tester on my car until I put the stock 1 bbl and manifold back on it. Then I had to swap my Wisconsin-allowed hipo head and cam back to stock to get the sucker to pass. The header was OK though. Exhaust mods are wide open except that you have to have working cat. and whatever smog components came on the car. Hope this saves you some work, Lou madsenl@caltech.edu |
