I've bypassed the Ammeter in my 63 wagon (170,904,super six) and wired the alternator to connect straight to the battery,bypassing everything. It was great for a while, but when i check the battery with a multimeter its getting 13.5-13.7 alot of the time(charging). This condition (i think) killed the alternator and voltage regullator. (both tested bad and replaced under part warranty) Is this possible? Is hooking the Alt output direct to the battery a No No ? |
